What are the moral and social commitments of the student with a student loan?

Becoming a young adult means that the individual has to be responsible of his or her own choices as well as be responsible for the things that are expected from him or her as an adequate member of society. These expectations can be categorized into two different and major areas: Social and Moral.

Moral expectancies of course are in concordance to what society waits of the student, such as not getting him or herself involved in illegal activities or vices, upholding the law. But mainly the moral expectancies that generally society has on a specific individual have to deal directly with the religious preference and interaction that the individual has. In a very wide and general way, it is feasible to say that all religions hold the same moral background and standing point.

In terms of society structure, the expectancy of the student also touches borders with the realm of the moral action but it has a more objective approach since social rules are an non spoken agreement to which all the residents or members of that particular society abide by. As an example, social regulations expect their members to help police n any way they can, or to move to one side when they are driving and an emergency vehicle is right behind them.

But the individual is not expected to understand and carry all the regulations of both society and morality at the same time and from the birth of the individual, it is something to which he or she will arrive in time and manner, slowly and paced. However, one thing that the individual is fully expected to understand and live up to the task as well as the things that are expected of him is in regards of his or her family.

When the individual is a child, then his or her parents have the moral and social obligation to provide all the necessary elements for the child, such as sustenance, shelter, and education. As the child grows up and starts interacting with society and its members, he or she will slowly start to acquire the responsibilities that society expects of them.

When the child is almost full grown or sufficiently grown in terms of society’s perception, it is his or her duty to see after his or her parents just the same as they did when the individual was a child. In terms of education, the student has both the moral and social commitment to make the most of the student loan that his or her parents have provided.
