One of the best kinds of financial aid is the student scholarship. Scholarships are money available to students that does not need repaid. They can be obtained through organizations, employers, schools, and other various associations. Scholarships usually feature a detailed financial aid application that requires extensive documentation. One of these documents will most likely include an essay. Student essays are typically 500 plus words in length. Some scholarships applications designate an essay to write about. Others however, leave the door open to your own imagination. Here are few examples of essay topics you can use for your financial aid venture.

Describe how your background, personality, experience, interests, goals, and values qualify you for the award you are applying for. Include accounts of people in your life who have influenced you.

Explain why you are the most qualified individual for the award.

Submit an essay describing the value of the occupation you seek to enter.

Describe an ethical dilemma you have personally experienced. Explain different actions you considered and why. Do not, however, describe what you did in the situation.

Detail an accomplishment you had in which you had to struggle to succeed. Recount what the accomplishment was, how you handled it, and how if effected you.

Describe an extra curricular activity that has significant meaning to you and why. This can include activities from your community, family, or work.

Write an essay about who you would spend an entire day with (dead or alive) and why that would be significant. Recount why you selected the individual and what you would discuss.

Describe the personality traits you value the most in yourself. Select a handful and explain how each has helped you become a better person.
