Computer basics–Unnecessary computer accessories

If you already have a computer or not and you have a tight student budget to adhere to and cannot divert too much money from it to buy all the accessories that everyone keeps telling you, you should have to work effectively with it. You will need to prioritize what it is that you need to get either before or at the same time as you get your new computer or transport your old one to your new student residence.

• Computer equipment

Any computer is conformed with a CPU unit, a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse. From here on, anything else is just an accessory that will help you round up all the things that you can and cannot do with the equipment. Nowadays there are printers that can go as low as $50.00 and even cheaper if they are discontinued models; however, it is important that before you purchase any of the printers that you make sure that the store carry the printer cartridges.

There are those who will tell you that it is no problem or worry, since there are small shops that are devoted to refilling the printer cartridges with additional ink. While in some cases, the ink that they use is actually good and their service is adequate; in most cases this is not true and the ink they use quickly evaporates and creates damage on the rolls and systems of the printer.

So, even if it means that you will have to balance more adequately your student loan budget, you definitely should focus on buying not only the printer but the corresponding cartridges. However, a cheap solution is to check with your teachers and see if they agree that you turn in all your paperwork on diskette; following the paperless guideline that most state governments have issued can save you not only cents but whole dollars out of your student loan.

This makes the printer not a necessary accessory for your computer, however, you can still purchase a low cost one and keep it handy, “just in case” you need to submit a printer paperwork or you decide to expand your budget by getting an after school job.

Other unnecessary computer accessories are the plastic covers to prevent dust from falling on the monitor, CPU and keyboard; the mouse pads since most mice are optical and do not need to roll around on the pad.
