Before you start decorating your dinning room
When you have decided to decorate the dinning set that your family or friends were able to hand you down or that you were able to acquire from a second hand or the salvation army store or from a garage sale, there are some simple steps that you should follow to this end. Naturally, any dinning room will require a lot less work than, let’s say, a living room or even your own bedroom.
• Design
You will need to create, draw and color a draft of the overall look and decoration that you want on your dinning room, the first thing that you need to consider on your design creation is the amount of money that you have to do this. Do not calculate only the “big” things such as paint and accessories, but also the small ones that are the ones taking the biggest chink of money such as brushes, plastic covers and paint mixing trays.
Consider creating at least two different color palettes. This will allow you to make sudden changes if a paint type or color that you want is too pricy or unavailable for any other reason.
• Clean
Once you have purchased the basic elements that you will need in order to decorate your dinning room, the next step is to clean the surfaces that you will be treating. Cleaning the walls, the rugs or carpets and the chair’s cushions will allow you to start working on painting the fabrics and the walls as soon as possible, and even do one thing while you wait another to dry.
Washing the walls will require you to have some sort of kitchen smog remover; grease removers will work fine and will help you clean these walls with little to no effort. Cleaning the walls of the rest of the house will not require these products since they are not adjacent to the kitchen, the dinning room generally is. You can even fin cleaning kits at amazing prices, it will be fine to spend a little more on cleaning items since you will be using them on a regular basis, not only now that you are decorating.
A carpet shampoo will work perfectly for all of the fabric furniture and carpentry that you have on the dinning room. Proceed as directed by producer and make sure that you vacuum thoroughly.
If you purchase a carpet shampoo, you will spend about $10.00 of your student loan, plus the lease on the vacuum cleaner or you could purchase one, after all you will be cleaning your room, house or apartment on a regular basis, these range between $60.00 all the way to $800.00 or more.
